Since 1988 GCG has been producing some of the finest machined products in the country! We have grown from a 2 man shop to a skilled team of 25 with 26 CNC spindles capable of producing just about anything one can imagine.
In November of 1988 Terry started GCG with a dream that not even he could imagine would be what it is today. GCG was started during economic uncertainty and had 3 partners at that time. The partnership quickly dissolved when others wanted out. Terry stood the course in an effort to realize the dream he had dreamt.
The early 1990's were difficult however it laid the foundation for what was to come.
In 1994 GCG purchased its first new CNC Lathe, that same Victor TNS -2 Lathe remains here today some 28 years later! Shortly after that a 1995 Fadal was purchased giving GCG its first CNC mill and from there the rest was history.
In 1997 GCG was fortunate to gain a lead on a RV project that opened the door for new beginnings.
1998 GCG moved into the Medical Device world as we completed our first instrument order for 100 Femoral Bone files. With no idea how to make the part we literally cut our teeth on the job. Nearly 20 years have passed since we completed the task and today we have now become one of that customers number one suppliers.
In the late 2000's with economic downturn and the largest housing crash in history GCG was very fortunate as we landed a large contract that would see us expand from 3 CNC mills to 9 CNC mills within a 2-1/2 year period. While we did hit hard at the end of the recession we came out on top and ahead of the curve!
In the winter of 2011 GCG purchased the building directly north of the existing plant at 4636. The acquisition would double the square footage and give GCG room to grow.
In 2012 GCG would add its first CMM as we landed another large medical device contract that would push us to the front of the field as we helped to launch one of the largest Knee R&D operations in history of US orthopedics.
In October 2013 GCG with the help of Gosiger would add its first 5 Axis Mill. The machine was equipped with Renishaw Probing and the ability to move all 5 axis simultaneous giving GCG unparalleled capabilities!
In 2014 GCG updated our QMS as we obtained ISO9001:2008 certifications with ZERO major NCRS! We also added the second 5 axis with third arriving April of 2015.
In May of 2015 GCG reached yet another milestone in the company's history as we received our AS9100 certification! This certification would propel GCG into the Aerospace arena making us one of very few companies in the area with this certification.
With no end in site GCG invested over half a million dollars making it the largest single order when we added machines 4 and 5 respectively in March of 2017 bringing the total to 5 5 axis machining centers!
Needless to say Terry made that 1988 dream a reality!
Stay tuned to see what's next!
